Cameron High, formerly with Crown Capital Securities, Sentenced to Three Years Probation
Recently, Judge David Nye of the U.S. District Court in Idaho sentenced Cameron High of Idaho Falls, Idaho to three years of probation, plus 300 hours of community service. High will also be ordered to pay restitution to victims, but that determination will be delayed until David Hansen, High’s busines partner, is sentenced. High and Hansen and their firm Yellowstone Partners LLP were alleged to have charged excessive advisory fees to their clients. It was alleged that they stole $11.8 million by from over 120 accounts by overbilling their clients, since 2008.
Cameron High was a financial advisor and registered representative of Crown Capital Securities from 2006 to October 2017. David Hansen was also with Crown Capital Securities from 2006 to December 2010. They worked at branch offices in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
Brokerage firms like Crown Capital Securities have a responsibility to adequately supervise all representatives who are registered through their firm. Brokerage firms also must take steps to ensure that their financial advisors follow all securities rules and regulations, as well as internal firm policies.
