RBC Capital Markets Sued by Massachusetts Securities Division Regarding Advisor Bruce Cameron

Have you lost money with financial advisor Bruce Cameron of Norwell, Massachusetts?  We are investigating allegations made by the Massachusetts Securities Division against Bruce T. Cameron, an advisor at RBC Capital Markets.  Massachusetts alleged that Cameron concentrated many of his clients’ assets in oil, gas, and energy investments, including master limited partnerships (or MLPs). 

It was further alleged that Cameron had a one-size-fits-all approach to investing, and that many of his customers had more than 50% of their portfolios concentrated in oil, gas, and energy stocks (and master limited partnerships), while RBC Capital Markets generally did not allow more than 30% of assets in any market sector. 

Bruce Cameron has been a financial advisor and registered representative of RBC Capital Markets from 2002 to the present.  He worked at a branch office in Norwell, Massachusetts.  Cameron was also the subject of a customer complaint, making allegations about oil and gas investments.

Brokerage firms like RBC Capital Markets have a responsibility to adequately supervise all representatives who are registered through their firm.  Brokerage firms also must take steps to ensure that their financial advisors follow all securities rules and regulations, as well as internal firm policies.  When brokerage firms fail to adequately supervise their registered representatives, they may be liable for investment losses sustained by customers.
