Sandeep Varma, formerly with LPL Financial, Suspended from the Securities Industry

 

Have you lost money with financial advisor Sandeep Varma of San Diego, California?  We are investigating allegations made by FINRA, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, against Sandeep Varma. FINRA suspended Varma from the securities industry for 10 days and fined him $15,000 regarding allegations that he used misleading materials during a seminar.  FINRA alleged that Varma made a powerpoint presentation regarding Charitable Remainder Trusts (CRTs) that contained exaggerated or misleading information.  Varma allegedly recommended investing in life insurance policies through the CRTs.

 

Sandeep Varma was a financial advisor and registered representative of LPL Financial from 1995 to November 2015.  He is currently affiliated with FSC Securities.  He worked at a branch office in San Diego, California.  Sandeep Varma has been the subject of at least five customer complaints.

 

Brokerage firms like LPL Financial have a responsibility to adequately supervise all representatives who are registered through their firm.  Brokerage firms also must take steps to ensure that their financial advisors follow all securities rules and regulations, as well as internal firm policies.  When brokerage firms fail to adequately supervise their registered representatives, they may be liable for investment losses sustained by customers.
