Leslie Koonce from Menlo Park, California Barred From Securities Industry
Have you lost money with financial advisor Leslie Koonce of Menlo Park, California? We are investigating allegations made by FINRA (the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority), against Leslie (or “Les”) R. Koonce. FINRA barred Leslie Koonce from the securities industry regarding allegations that he engaged in undisclosed private securities transactions without permission from his brokerage firm, LPL Financial. FINRA alleged that Koonce solicited 30 prospective investors to invest in convertible promissory notes of a private company.
Leslie Koonce was a financial advisor and registered representative of LPL Financial from September 2009 to November 2015. He worked at a branch office in Menlo Park, California. Koonce was terminated by LPL Financial for this conduct. He was also affiliated with Koonce Financial Services.
Brokerage firms like LPL Financial have a responsibility to adequately supervise all representatives who are registered through their firm. Brokerage firms also must take steps to ensure that their financial advisors follow all securities rules and regulations, as well as internal firm policies. When brokerage firms fail to adequately supervise their registered representatives, they may be liable for investment losses sustained by customers.
