Jerry Raines and Donna Barnard, formerly with HD Vest, Barred from Securities Industry

Have you lost money investing in the Woodbridge Group of Companies through brokers Jerry Raines or Donna Barnard?  Our firm is investigating whether Jerry Raines and Donna Barnard from Kilgore, Texas sold investments in the Woodbridge Group of Companies to their customers.  Raines and Barnard were also the subject of a separate investigations by FINRA (the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority).  FINRA barred Jerry Raines and Donna Barnard from the securities industry after they failed to respond to an investigation regarding their involvement with Woodbridge.

Jerry Raines and Donna Barnard were financial advisors with HD Vest Investment Services (also known as HDVest) from August 2014 to May 2017.  Raines and Barnard worked in a branch office in Kilgore, Texas.    Raines has been the subject of at least two customer complaints, regarding Woodbridge.  Raines and Barnard also operated Stonelion Insurance and Financial Services.

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filed a complaint against the Woodbridge Group of Companies, alleging that this amounted to a $1.2 billion Ponzi scheme.  The SEC is concerned that Woodbridge may have sold unregistered securities and may have made material misrepresentations in connection with selling its investments to investors.

Brokerage firms like HD Vest Investment Services have a duty to reasonably supervise brokers and financial advisors like Jerry Raines and Donna Barnard.  If HD Vest failed to do so, it could be liable for investor losses.
