James Couture, formerly with LPL Financial, Barred by FINRA

Have you lost money with financial advisor James Couture?  We are looking into allegations made about James K. Couture from Worcester, Massachusetts.  FINRA (the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority) barred Couture from the securities industry.  FINRA alleged that Couture has failed to respond to its investigation.  Couture was being investigated for allegations that he commingled customer funds and altered information on account balances and distributions on customer statements.

James Couture was a financial advisor and registered representative of LPL Financial from 2009 to July 2020.  He worked in a branch office in Worcester, Massachusetts.  Couture was also terminated by LPL Financial.

Brokerage firms like LPL Financial have a responsibility to adequately supervise all representatives who are registered through their firm.  Brokerage firms also must take steps to ensure that their financial advisors follow all securities rules and regulations, as well as internal firm policies.  When brokerage firms fail to adequately supervise their registered representatives, they may be liable for investment losses sustained by customers.
