Financial Advisor JAMES BYLENGA of Michigan BARRED

Losses with Ronald Hannes of Woodbury Financial in Spokane, WA

Have you lost money with financial advisor James Bylenga of Portage, Michigan?

We are looking into allegations made by FINRA (the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority), against James C. Bylenga. FINRA barred Bylenga from the securities industry after he failed to respond to an investigation.  FINRA was investigating Bylenga regarding allegations that he borrowed money from customers, which generally is not allowed in the securities industry, with a few limited exceptions.

James Bylenga was a financial advisor and registered representative of LPL Financial from June 2016 to August 2018.  He also worked with Comerica Securities from 2009 to April 2016.  He worked at offices in Portage and Kalamazoo, Michigan.  Bylenga also was affiliated with Retirement Wealth Management Group.

Brokerage firms like LPL Financial have a responsibility to adequately supervise all representatives who are registered through their firm.  Brokerage firms also must take steps to ensure that their financial advisors follow all securities rules and regulations, as well as internal firm policies.  When brokerage firms fail to adequately supervise their registered representatives, they may be liable for investment losses sustained by customers.

Israels & Neuman PLC is a securities and investment fraud law firm with offices in Ann Arbor, Michigan; Denver, Colorado; and Seattle, Washington.  We represent investors in FINRA arbitration proceedings in all 50 states, including investors in Michigan.  Attorney Aaron Israels is licensed to practice law in Michigan and is a member of PIABA (The Public Investors Arbitration Bar Association.  He grew up in Holland, Michigan and also lived for many years in the Detroit area.  We have also represented a number of victims who had their money stolen by Michigan brokers, including Christopher Tolmacs, another Portage advisor.  Our attorneys have recovered money for investors against many brokerage firms in the past, including LPL Financial.
