Alexander James, previously with Voya Financial Advisors, Suspended One Year by FINRA
Have you lost money with financial advisor Alexander James? We are looking into allegations made about Alexander Jon James from Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. FINRA (the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority) suspended James from the securities industry for one year and fined him $10,000. FINRA was investigating James after he allegedly did not disclose an outside business activity to his former brokerage firm, Voya Financial Advisors. It was alleged that James raised $667,000 for a company that he started.
Alexander James was a financial advisor and registered representative of Voya Financial Advisors from January 2012 to May 2017. He was also with Allstate Financial Services from June 2017 to March 2020. He worked in branch offices in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. James has also been affiliated with GenerosiTrend LLC and JX2 Ventures LLC.
Brokerage firms like Voya Financial Advisors have a responsibility to adequately supervise all representatives who are registered through their firm. Brokerage firms also must take steps to ensure that their financial advisors follow all securities rules and regulations, as well as internal firm policies.
