Charles Taylor, Jodi Padgett, and John Farmer with Royal Alliance Associates, Fined for Referring Customers to Buy Gold and Silver Coins – Prescott, AZ

Have you lost money with financial advisor Charles Taylor, Jodi Padgett, and John Farmer in Prescott, Arizona? We are looking into allegations made by FINRA (the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority) against Charles Edwin Taylor, Jodi Oyler Padgett, and John Lodge Farmer. FINRA suspended Taylor for six months and fined him $25,000; Padgett was fined $15,000 and ordered to requalify as a principal; and Farmer was fined $5,000. The fines were levied regarding allegations that Taylor, Padgett, and Farmer referred customers to purchase gold and silver coins through International Collector’s Association, without disclosing such to their former brokerage firm, Royal Alliance Associates.

Charles Taylor was a registered representative and financial advisor with Royal Alliance Associates from 1989 to January 2019. Jodi Padgett worked for Royal Alliance Associates from 1995 to January 2019, and John Farmer also worked for Royal Alliance Associates from 2011 to January 2019. They worked out of a branch office in Prescott, Arizona. They also worked with Taylor and Padgett Financial Group in Prescott.

Broker-dealers like Royal Alliance Associates have a responsibility to adequately supervise all representatives who are registered through their firm, including investments sold by their registered representatives. Broker-dealers also must take steps to ensure that their financial advisors follow all securities rules and regulations. When broker-dealers fail to adequately supervise their registered representatives, they may be liable for investment losses sustained by customers.
