MICHAEL LESSARD of Southeast Investments BARRED

INVESTIGATION! Michael Lessard, Southeast Investments, North and South Carolina

Have you lost money with financial advisor Michael Lessard of Southeast Investments in Charlotte, North Carolina?

We are looking into allegations made by FINRA (the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority), against Michael Lessard FINRA barred Lessard from the securities industry regarding allegations that he borrowed money from two customers, which generally is not allowed in the securities industry, with a few limited exceptions.  He failed to pay one of the loans back, and he also failed to notify his former brokerage firms, Southeast Investments and Dempsey Lord Smith, of the loans.

Michael P. Lessard, Jr. was a financial advisor and registered representative of Southeast Investments from October 2014 to May 2017.  He also worked with Dempsey Lord Smith from May 2017 to May 2018.  He worked at offices in Charlotte, North Carolina and Rock Hill, South Carolina.  Lessard also was affiliated with Palmetto Premier Advisors.

Brokerage firms like Southeast Investments have a responsibility to adequately supervise all representatives who are registered through their firm.  Brokerage firms also must take steps to ensure that their financial advisors follow all securities rules and regulations, as well as internal firm policies.  When brokerage firms fail to adequately supervise their registered representatives, they may be liable for investment losses sustained by customers.

Israels & Neuman PLC is a securities and investment fraud law firm with offices in Ann Arbor, Michigan; Denver, Colorado; and Seattle, Washington and are members of the Public Investors Arbitration Bar Association (PIABA).  We represent investors in FINRA arbitration proceedings in all 50 states, including investors in North Carolina and South Carolina.  Our attorneys have recovered millions of dollars for investors against many brokerage firms in the past.
