Have you lost money with financial advisor Louis Cook?  We are looking into allegations made about Louis Cook from Staten Island, New York.  FINRA (the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority) barred Lou Cook from the securities industry.  FINRA alleged that Cook misused $150,000 of customer funds when he made withdrawals from customers’ annuities and accounts without their consent. 

Louis Cook was a financial advisor and registered representative of National Planning Corp. from November 2009 to November 2017.  He worked in branch offices in Staten Island, New York.  He has been the subject of two customer complaints.

Brokerage firms like National Planning Corp. have a responsibility to adequately supervise all representatives who are registered through their firm.  Brokerage firms also must take steps to ensure that their financial advisors follow all securities rules and regulations, as well as internal firm policies.  When brokerage firms fail to adequately supervise their registered representatives, they may be liable for investment losses sustained by customers.
