David Volpe, previously with National Planning Corp., Subject of Arizona Complaint
Have you lost money with financial advisor David Volpe? We are continuing to investigate allegations made about David J. Volpe from Scottsdale, Arizona. Volpe was the subject of a complaint by the Arizona Corporation Commission regarding allegations that he sold unregistered investments in Cashflow PC to a client with a diminished memory, and he was “borrowed” money from the same client.
FINRA (the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority) previously barred Volpe from the securities industry after Volpe failed to respond to its investigation.
David Volpe was a financial advisor and registered representative of National Planning Corp. from January 2009 to November 2017. He was also affiliated with LPL Financial from November 2017 to December 2018, and with First Financial Equity Corp. from January 2019 to May 2019. He worked in a branch office in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Brokerage firms like National Planning Corp., LPL, and First Financial Equity have a responsibility to adequately supervise all representatives who are registered through their firm. Brokerage firms also must take steps to ensure that their financial advisors follow all securities rules and regulations, as well as internal firm policies. When brokerage firms fail to adequately supervise their registered representatives, they may be liable for investment losses sustained by customers.
