CHRISTOPHER KOZAK of Cetera SUSPENDED – Highlands Ranch, CO

Investigation of Alan New of NYLife Securities in Fort Wayne, IN

Christopher Kozak, formerly with Cetera Advisors, Suspended 6 Months

Have you lost money with financial advisor Christopher Kozak of Highlands Ranch, Colorado?  We are investigating allegations made against Christopher Kozak.  According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), Kozak allegedly failed to disclose to his former brokerage firm, Cetera Advisors, that he was conducting due diligence on behalf of a company in connection with a merger or acquisition of a company that marketed nutrition bars.  FINRA suspended Kozak from the securities industry for six months and fined him $10,000.

FINRA has also been investigating Scott Kozak, who was alleged to have solicited investors to invest $530,000 in a nutrition bar company.  Approximately $300,000 of the investors’ money has not been repaid.

Christopher Kozak was a financial advisor and registered representative of Cetera Advisors from 2008 to October 2018.  Scott Kozak also previously worked with Cetera Advisors.  He worked at a branch office in Highlands Ranch, Colorado.  Both Scott and Christopher worked for Kozak and Associates.

Brokerage firms like Cetera Advisors have a responsibility to adequately supervise all representatives who are registered through their firm.  Brokerage firms also must take steps to ensure that their financial advisors follow all securities rules and regulations, as well as internal firm policies.  When brokerage firms fail to adequately supervise their registered representatives, they may be liable for investment losses sustained by customers.

Israels & Neuman PLC is a securities and investment fraud law firm with offices in Phoenix, Arizona; Denver, Colorado; and Seattle, Washington.  We represent investors in FINRA arbitration proceedings in all 50 states, including investors in Colorado and throughout the Denver area, and attorney Aaron Israels is licensed to practice law in Colorado.  Our attorneys have represented over one thousand investors against many brokerage firms in the past, including Cetera Advisors.
