INVESTOR ALERT! Complaints Against HALIL KOZI of PHX Financial – New York

INVESTOR ALERT! Dana Bruce Vietor of Cape Securities and CFD Investments in Texas and Iowa

Halil Kozi, previously with PHX Financial, Subject of FINRA Complaint

Have you lost money with financial advisor Halil Kozi?  We are investigating allegations made about Halil Thomas Kozi from New York, New York.  FINRA (the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority) filed a complaint against Kozi, seeking to punish or fine him.

FINRA was investigating Halil Kozi, a broker who previously worked with PHX Financial, regarding allegations that Kozi engaged in excessive trading or churning between June 2013 and February 2015.  FINRA alleged that one of Kozi’s customers had a cost-to-equity ratio of 53%.  To put this in perspective, if an account had a cost equity ratio of 53%, that means the trading in the account would have to make a 53% profit annually just to break even from the costs of trading.

Halil Kozi was a financial advisor and registered representative of PHX Financial from March 2013 to March 2016.  Kozi was also affiliated with Buckman, Buckman & Reid from February 2016 to May 2017.  He worked at a branch office in New York, New York.

Brokerage firms like PHX Financial have a responsibility to adequately supervise all representatives who are registered through their firm.  Brokerage firms also must take steps to ensure that their financial advisors follow all securities rules and regulations, as well as internal firm policies.  When brokerage firms fail to adequately supervise their registered representatives, they may be liable for investment losses sustained by customers.

Israels & Neuman PLC is a securities and investment fraud law firm with offices in Phoenix, Arizona, Denver, Colorado; Seattle, Washington; and Ann Arbor, Michigan.  We represent investors in FINRA arbitration proceedings in all 50 states, including New York City. Our attorneys have recovered millions of dollars for investors against many brokerage firms in the past.
